Major challenge: keep it simple

Explaining the concept of ACE+ solutions, including the Robotic Measuring System (RMS), in a simple and appealing way is quite the challenge. Especially because it involves brand-new technology that replaces complex actions. Also, the target group for the animation consists of decision-makers in the glass fiber industry, who do not always have a technical background themselves. For this reason, TKF asked C4Real to make the 3D animation as clear as possible and to go as little in-depth as possible in terms of technique. The advantage here is that the problem definition of the target group was very clear and the advantages of the ACE+ solutions are very universal: cost savings, more overview, and minimization of human errors. With these elements, C4Real set to work to create an animation that would convey the message as clearly as possible.

With a combination of 2D and 3D animation, C4Real has achieved the objective of TKF. In broad lines, the video shows how ACE+ optimizes the routing of fiber-optic cables, for example. The difference with manually changing all kinds of cables is obvious. Without there being any practical examples of ACE+ and the RMS, because they were still in the prototype phase when these animations were made, the end products were still visualized for the target group. With this method of visual storytelling, TKF clearly distinguishes itself from the solid communication that is customary in the fiber-optic industry.
